In the new Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio 318 “Constructing Explainability”, around 60 researchers from the universities of Paderborn and Bielefeld are working towards making artificial intelligence (AI) more comprehensible. To this end, they are investigating the principles, mechanisms and social practices of explanation and how these can be taken into account in the design of AI systems. In the “public relations” sub-project, researchers from sociology and computer science will organise workshops in which the public can explore AI for themselves.

In the workshop offered here, participants will take on the role of teachers of AI systems. Participants will learn how a “teachable machine” recognises and evaluates patterns, for example, they can train the machine to indicate if a person is wearing a mask. for example, they can train the machine to indicate if a person is wearing a mask.

There are no entry requirements – families and interested people of all ages are welcome!

Registration for this event opens on 06.06.22. The event is limited to 40 participants.
