The Institute of Sports Medicine at Paderborn University invited the public to a workshop entitled “Sports neurology live – A personal experience” as part of the university’s 50^th anniversary celebrations.

Sports neurology concerns itself with the protection of the brain in sport (concussion), the health-promoting and disease-diminishing effects of sport and physical activity in people with neurological diseases, and the use of brain resources for healthier and better practice of sport. There is hardly another institution in Germany that stands more for research, teaching and the transfer of sports neurology knowledge than the Institute of Sports Medicine at Paderborn University. In the interactive hands-on workshop, participants were offered both the scientifically evident contents of sports neurological research and autonomous participation in sports neurological interventions such as cognitive-motor training. The interactive workshop was conducted in German and English together with students from the Master’s degree course Applied Neurosciences in Sports & Exercise.
