Night at the School of Mechanical Engineering

On Friday, September 23, 2022, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering opened its doors. In addition to information about the faculty's degree programs, there were great hands-on activities for children (and young-at-heart adults), exciting workshops and insights into current research areas. The individual working groups and research facilities of the faculty, such as the DMRC (Direct Manufacturing Research Center), the KET (Competence Center for Energy Technology), and the ILH (Institute for Lightweight Construction with Hybrid Systems), as well as the Fraunhofer project group Design Technology Mechatronics, presented themselves. Central challenges that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Paderborn deals with, such as resource efficiency, sustainability and environmental compatibility of products and production processes, use of information technology, and safety, were presented. The student initiatives, such as the student council and the HG Wing, as well as the UPBracing Team, also provided insights into their work. More information about the event can be found here.
