Campus forest project
Event organizer:Sandra Bischof – Gesunde Hochschule
Paderborn University’s Campus Forest project is planting 25,000 trees in the Haxtergrund recreation area.
All participants in the campaign collected trees for the Campus Forest project over a period of 25 days. From 9. May to 2. June, they collected so-called activity points through movement. The sporting activities during this time could be entered into the Teamfit app. The points were then converted into trees using a conversion key. Anyone who felt connected to the university could take part: employees and students, their family members and friends, but also all Paderborn residents.
The aspects of exercise and health, nature conservation and community are combined in the Campus Forest project. Paderborn University worked in cooperation with the City of Paderborn, the Willebadessen Municipal Forestry Association and the Richard Hesse Foundation “Naturfreunde Surrounded by Alme and Diemel”, which has already successfully initiated reforestation projects in the Paderborn district. As health partner to Paderborn University, support also came from the Techniker Krankenkasse
